The drawers are opened by entering a 4-digit code. The drawers can be closed automatically after a certain defined time or manually by entering the same code again.
There is a battery indicator that indicates when the battery needs to be replaced. If the battery is completely used up, the drawers can still be opened via emergency opening, but cannot be closed anymore.
